This adaptation of the ancient Sumerian epic follows the legendary King Gilgamesh of Uruk as he embarks on a journey of friendship, loss, and the search for immortality. Initially a tyrant, Gilgamesh finds a companion in the wild man Enkidu, and together they undertake heroic feats, including battling the monster Humbaba and defying the gods. However, Enkidu's death forces Gilgamesh to confront his own mortality, leading him on a perilous quest to find the secret to eternal life. Featuring gods, monsters, and themes of power, friendship, and humanity, this adaptation brings the world's oldest epic to life for a modern audience with dynamic staging and a flexible cast.
